I was walking up to Tesco with my mum when a van with two older men slowed down as they approached us, one of them began beeping his horn and I could hear him shouting “Oi blondey” and pointing at me, as I looked up towards him he then did a ‘blowjob’ type gesture towards me, I pulled a face of disgust and him and the other male swore at me and drove off laughing. I felt so uneasy for the rest of the day after this because I couldn’t understand why it had even happened, I was wearing baggy jeans and a men’s oversized hoodie. As a young female who has suffered with anxiety and body image for the majority of my life this really threw me and made me feel even less safe going out with anyone, even my mum, never mind going out alone which I already struggle to do.
