I was waiting for my tram when 2 men started talking to me. One was telling me how he’s barred from most bars in town for getting in fights and trying to drug and rape women. He told me he sells drugs and weapons and began lifting up clothing to show me his scars. Then he went to shake my hand. I felt uncomfortable and was scared what would happen if I refused, so I did. He then pulled me towards him, wouldn’t let go of my hand and started sniffing my neck. When my tram came, it sat at the stop for a while as it was the turnaround point. He kept getting on, sitting next to me and then getting back off. He then made some sexual hand gestures at me through the tram window. There must’ve been about 15 others at the tram stop when it happened. Not one stepped in or even asked if I was okay. I’m now scared to get on the tram at that stop on my own and often now walk up to the next stop just in case.
I’m 23 years old and 4ft 10in, so I sometimes feel like I have to play along, even when I’m uncomfortable, because I know I won’t be able to defend myself if I don’t and they get aggressive.
